Hello everyone, I’m Luke and I started this site to learn and teach the makings and marketing of a website. I’ve worked with computers for many years but didn’t know anything about marketing. I fiddled with some web design, Photoshop graphics and 3D animation, but never really knew what I needed to get me to the next step. I didn’t even know what that next step was.
During the fall of 2007, I purchased a couple of eBooks that got me inspired on making money on the Internet. When I purchased those books, I was rather annoyed that they weren’t physical books like I would normally receive from Amazon. They were actually an Adobe PDF file that I had to print. Using my own printer and paper!
Well, it wasn’t the end of the world. Those two books gave me so many links and ideas on where to look and what to do, that it got me inspired to start doing all kinds of research.
Within those eBooks, they mentioned audio books and podcasts. I’ve heard of audio books, but never actually listened to one at that time. And I wasn’t too familiar with podcasts either. So, I did a search and found Podcast.com. I started downloading many different Internet marketing podcasts.
I have a one hour commute to work along with an hour at the gym each day. This gave me three hours of listening to the podcasts every day. For about five months, I listened to nothing but those podcast. There are some that are just a joke about Internet marketing while others’ are, actually, very informative.
Jay Berkowitz’s podcast, The Ten Golden Rules of Internet Marketing, was by far one of the best. He sounded like a sincere, all around nice guy. I wanted to give Jay a suggestion on a podcast segment. If I didn’t take action, there would be no way for me to move ahead. So, I sat on my deck with my notebook computer, microphone headset over my ears and scripted letter to record. I recorded and sent a message to Jay to see if he could do a podcast segment that would help me create a marketing website. I received a message that same evening with a reply of “Let’s do it.”
I was siked. Well, I spoke to Jay a few times since then and he really is a nice guy. He is known as one of the top Internet marketers in the industry.
During this whole time I met Chuck, who was doing the same things and had the same interests as me, from the same podcasts, books, visions and ideas. I asked him if he would be interested in joining me on this project with Jay. Chuck was very enthusiastic with many ideas.
